Who We Are
Aspiring Heights Academy (AHA) is a Florida registered non-traditional, non-public school founded and directed by Jody Davids. AHA serves as an umbrella school (also known as a cover school) for parents who wish to pursue home-based education for their children. AHA was established in 2010.
What We Do
We help parents comply with Florida's school attendance laws while teaching their children at home. We serve as a Florida legal school of record and provide guidance, correspond with former and future schools and colleges, and permanently maintain academic records. We assist parents and students with FLVS Flex course options, dual enrollment opportunities, Bright Futures scholarships, and college admissions.
Who We Serve
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a covering to Florida families so that parents can educate their children concordant with their lifestyles and beliefs and their children's educational goals. We strive to make homeschooling and meeting Florida's compulsory attendance requirements as stress free as possible by offering support, curriculum options, and assistance with dual enrollment, scholarships, and the college application process.
Our Vision
We envision safe, stimulating, and comforting educational environments that inspire children to develop their full potential based on their individual abilities and learning styles and where graduates will have the knowledge and skills they need for a variety of post-graduation options.
Our History
Our school was established in 2010 under the name of iamhomeschooling.com in conformity with our former informational website. In 2012, our school was renamed Aspiring Heights Academy. The name Aspiring Heights Academy was chosen because "aspire" means to seek to attain something high or great, which is something we hope for our children.
Our School
Aspiring Heights Academy has been registered with the Florida Department of Education since 2010 and completes the private school annual survey as required in Florida Statute 1002.42(2)(b). Our school is listed in the FLDOE Directory of Private Schools in the Sarasota County District. Aspiring Heights Academy meets all the legal definitions and reporting requirements specified in Section 1002.42, F.S. and is a place of full-time enrollment and regular attendance of Florida resident compulsory-attendance-aged students.
